We actively encourage movement. And this time we don’t mean personal development — we mean actual physical activity! After a productive day at work, we’re happy to offer opportunities to relax, unwind and recharge through sports. We want all our colleagues to enjoy this. That’s why we organise many activities, such as padel and squash evenings, tennis battles, running sessions and plenty of other sporting challenges. You can also claim reimbursement for your own gym or sports membership. If you want to get things moving, you naturally need to take the first step yourself. When you do, we’ll support you at #TeamHero with a fully equipped sports outfit.

Your career at Hero begins together with all other new starters during our onboarding programme — a journey full of information, inspiration and moments to unwind. We believe it’s incredibly important that new colleagues quickly understand what Hero stands for, our history, how we treat clients and candidates, the culture we share and the challenges we set for ourselves. Our onboarding ensures that new Hero colleagues are up and running in no time and feel part of the team from day one. 

#TeamHero is called #TeamHero for a reason. We regularly organise outings for different departments and for the entire team. We enjoy exercising, having lunch, laughing and dining together. Every year we also host the Hero Day — an inspiring event featuring, among other things, company visits and a programme that changes every year.

“Work Hard & Play Hard” is one of our four core values. “Work Hard” naturally applies during office hours — and “Play Hard” happens mainly in our own games room. The pool table, table tennis, dartboards, PlayStations, computers and bar offer relaxation, team bonding and plenty of fun. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a productive day.

The way we structure our meetings is the heartbeat of Hero and sets our working rhythm. Daily stand-ups, personal and company-wide weeklies, monthlies and quarterlies ensure that we are always quickly up to date with everything that’s going on.

Alongside our meeting structure, we also communicate extensively through our internal platform, HeroToday. Our intranet offers a wealth of useful and interesting information, shares updates, and inspires colleagues with a wide range of tips and recommendations.

Every colleague gets the opportunity to continuously develop. One of the ways we support this is through coaching. Hero works with several independent professional coaches. Employees choose for themselves which coach they want to work with and what the focus of their sessions will be.

Each month we announce the Hero of the Month —an honorary title awarded by colleagues to someone who has shown exceptional performance, remarkable dedication or simply deserves a motivational boost. A wonderful recognition from your peers!
